Dilla Orchestra..

So, we at rapsploitation sessions are no different from any other modern music lover in the respect that we love the work of J Dilla.

Recently, Carlos Nino & Miguel Atwood Ferguson leaked two mp3s of orchestral arrangements of classic dilla tunes (Nag Champa & Fall in Love) on the net and has followed it up by producing a full EP called "Suite for Ma Dukes".

Recently his orchestra got together to perform classic and obscure dilla productions & tracks to an exclusive live audience. Here's a short clip (props to thelipstickdiaries.com) from the performance featuring cameo's from Posdnous, Talib Kweli, Illa J, Ma Dukes, House Shoes, Kariem Riggins, Amp Fiddler and many more i'm sure were in attendance on the night.

Apparently there was a film crew, so fingers crossed they are planning to release a DVD of the whole night.

The long awaited DVD-Magazine from the hub of online beat makers, louisden.com , is almost finally here.

London heat of 2009 UK Beatbox Championships

The London heats of the 2009 UK Beatbox Championships were held last friday and in the comp was Rapsploitation Sessions very own beatbox wizard mr Pikey Esquire!!

The Competition looked very tough with the judges choosing layth as the eventual winner, he will now go on to the finals in june for a chance to become UK champ

Rapsploitation Sessions 2nd Birthday with Chester P!

Happy Birthday To Rapsploitation Sessions!

Since it was our birthday, we had to do it big style, and what better else to have the promoter (hi, haters) performing and support one of UK Hip Hop's legends in Chester P...he brought along with him another legend in these parts (i could name 100 people i know who got into uk hip hop through the ten pound bag mixtapes) louis slipperz, and inja, from the cambridge collective Delegates of Culture!

Since Rapsploitation Sessions is big in the game - we off course sold out of tickets and had to turn a lot of people away. A few of you have good blag games and got in, because rapsploitation sessions respect the gift of the gab.

It was a great party had by all....Chester P KILLED IT, but i don't need to tell you that.....the guys a legend.

Thanks to the whole crew, Billy Bollox, Jimmy Green, Paulo, Muddle, Damian & Swan Staff, Chester Inja, Louis Slipperz, Shumsz and everyone who came, new heads & rapsploitaton sessions veterans...the next one will be even bigger!
